Currently, Mike is working with the tech publishers O‘Reilly Media on a book that outlines a tried and tested algorithm that all organisations can follow to realise the game-changing value that big data and data science can bring. In his role as the Chief Analytics Officer at JustGiving.com (the world’s leading social giving company), he has used this approach to successfully transform the organisation. Establishing data and analytics as the lifeblood of the company, central to every operational and strategic decision.
With this approach his team of analysts, statisticians and data scientists have used data science to build smart data-centric products that have had a significant impact on the world of giving. Much of his work can be found in technical magazines, press articles and a couple of recent bestselling big data books.
He is also working with several leading universities on a big data programme for senior executives.
